Default Would a bad CV axel cause vibration when braking?

1998 A6 Quattro 30v - 197k

The brakes and rotors on my care are all fairly new. Braking was smooth for months after in installed EBC redstuff brakes. Now when I brake, only sometimes, I get a wobble or shake in the car. The cv boots are both torn on the drivers side, would this cause the noise/wobble or is something else not right?

I would think if it was cv boots it would cause vibrations while acceleration as well no? Maybe your rotors have warped again. The rotors warp a lot on these cars.

There is no vibrations when accelerating, so perhaps I will need to replace the rotors again. The rotors are still under warranty.

If it was the rotors, it would happen everytime you applied the brakes. Before you swap out the rotors, do a bedding in of the pads. Run up to 60 and stop fairly hard down to 10 and repeat 5-6 times. Do not come to a full stop at any time or you will have a spot on the rotors with pad deposits. Drive for 10 minutes without using the brakes to allow them to cool down.

I will give that a try. Thanks.

Were the hub surfaces cleaned off of ALL the rust before the new rotors were installed or were they just thown on with no cleaning?

Were the brake rotors made in China?

Are the hub surfaces true?

Are the brake calipers sticking when the brakes get hot?

Are the brake pads free to travel in the caliper brackets or is there rust & old brake pad material in there?

Not much cleaning was done, it didnt look too bad when I removed the rotors.

They are from autozone. I had a friend tell me to spend the money on the pads and not go crazy with the rotors.

I believe so

They did once when I wed bedding in the brakes.

Yes, no rust or old material.

On the original question, I would say a bad CV joint would not cause vibration during braking. I have a 98 A6 30v and have had bad CV joints, and never any vibration issues.
If you have the original calipers, they may need to be replaced. I replaced the fronts 2 years ago and the backs a few months ago. I could feel the difference right away.
Also after rotor and pad replacement I never had any vibration. I have used rotor and pad sets from blauparts.
