Default Coding 00032 and Tipshift: And/Or?

I've come across information for both the reflash of the transmission ECU to the 00032 sport coding, and about the GIAC tipshift upgrade. Do these "play well together", or are they redundant?

Thanks

We did the 32 and tip chip to a friends car with great results. but the 32 and the chip are redundent. The chip dose all the same things that the 32 dose but with more flare

Nice Vid...gets me pumped for a 4.2..yes, I realize that S4 and likely a stock one would spank a stock 4.2L...and a six speed conversion is way more work than I'm up for. Just looking forward to some good punch and good sounds and raised eyebrows-- WTF you got a V8 in that thing? Happens all the time with my 928...

At any rate, I assume the 32 reflash is a dealer operation -- any guestimate on the fair cost-range for that?
Is there a technical service bulletin about it, or some other factory reference?
Thanks again

Edit: Whups, and another question....is there a cutoff date or VIN after which the 0032 coding is standard, or is it an upgrade that has to be reflashed onto the car regardless of model year/configuration?

Baskin...Is the re-flash just a simple VAG-COM re-code or is there more in depth. Will this improve the hard shifting, and hunting? Will my dealer get all pissy with it or is it normal to reflash the tranny? Anybody in the Seattle area have a VAG-COM and the instructions to flash? Thanks in advance.

Interesting, I was under the impression that the 00032 tiptronic code changed the timing of the shift (higher RPM) whereas the tiptronic chip as to improve the speed of the shift (no searching and quicker transition between the gears). I couldbe wrong, but I would be suprised if that were the case since the 00032 recode is free if you have access to a VAG COM, but a tip chip costs several hunderds of dollars.

ive changed from 00002 to 01032,ending up on 00022, i havent check 00032, but as far as i see both codes unlocked highr RPM on the first gear and downshifting only, rought shifting and fishing havent changed :/ will try 00032 maybe shifting time will be different, i quess rought shfting and fishing can be solved onlyby oil and filter change

The recode is free for those who asked do the following

go into transmission in the vag. Then go torecode and put in 000032 then hit the do it option. If you find that your car dose not except this E mail me as you will need a work shop code for your car. Some cars don't need the work shop codes while I have seen several 4.2 cars that have needed it.

As for the years that supposedly already have the 000032 any 2002+ is said to have a more aggressive trans file

000032 is a dealer option to put in cars that live in mountains areas (or so the dealer info suggests) we have labeled it as sport when in fact it just has sport feachers we like

The 32 flash the following info is from dealer update corporate code 30.38 D given to dealers back in 99

32 coding will increase pump line pressure buy 2lbs allowing the trans to shift with less slip (the trans slips so you don't feel the shifts between gears) and longer gear placement.

It goes on to say more mumbo jumbo with little detail to the rest of the info

as for hunting. hunting is a load function not so much a code issue. Many people say there is less hunt with the 32 maybe this is due to the longer gear placement

There is a much bigger difference in the tip chip than with the 32
the 32 makes the same changes a tip chip dose just not to the same extent

i just tried it and it works pretty well. definitely noticed a little increase in shift speed. only thing, am i correct in assuming that the coding should be 00032? i'm just asking because Vagcom spit me back an error when i tried to put in four zeros in front of the 32, saying something like "code must consist of 5 digits". okay, well i just wanted to make sure it wasn't just my car or just me being crazy, the 32 recode does seem to work though.
