I am just going to take the whole bottom out like the one in the picture with a carbin fiber screen. I will update it this weekend or through next week.

With it in the air box you have zero of those problems. I am either going to do that or the same thing with the K&N filter. I believe the dmg has alrdy been done to the intake by cutting holes in it. I think the carbin fiber net will help protect anything from getting into the engine bay unlike a bunch of random holes

i see the link on page 2, and the filter u said u got from pepboys, as far as i know, the part of CT i live in, theres no pepboys close by so my question is, does autozone carry an air filter that sucks are from the top? or just in general how can i tell if it will or not? bc then i can go to a number of stores by me and pick up a filter that does, only problem is, if i go in and ask the help, they are so lacking in knowledge im sure i will come out with the wrong thing

come to think of it also, do i really need to drill holes, or a big hole in the air box? i mean, if u look online for what they give u when u buy a manufactured cold air intake, its a pipe, a filter, and some connectors/seals, so can i just go to a muffler shop get a pipe bent how i want, and add the filter and a seal? wont that be the exact same thing? and then i can get rid of the air box all together
