Default control arms, TRE's and CV Boots...

I had my TRE's done by a shop. when i brought the car in, they told me my cv boots were bad, which was obvious, and that my control arms were all fine. now im getting a noise similar to the one i got when my TRE's were bad. im going to bring the car to the shop tomorrow, but just so im armed with info, can a bad cv joint possibly caused by the torn cv boot cause a control arm to go bad? i had the TRE's replaced around Thanksgiving and i doubt the control arms could go from good to bad in that little time. plus, i hear my steering would have some play with bad control arms, and mine doesnt. i dont even think my cv joint is bad, as i havent heard any of the typical 'clicking' associated with it. just the same metal on metal rattling while going over a bump, but this time only while turning. i had it all the time with the TRE's. its not THAT loud though. any thoughts?

Rattle when going over a bump? Strut tower hat, sway bar bushings or control arms. The grease from a torn boot won't make a control arm go bad. They just go bad all on their own.

Good luck,

Bob

turns out all four upper control arms are shot. it just started faintly clunking so i should be alright for a while. should i replace all of them or just the uppers? also i have the torn boots, should i just replace the boots for now since i have them bought already and replace the whole axle later? or replace the axle now?

hmm, i'm replaced whole control arms kit bought on ebay from Deutsche Parts USA. Well, after short time (month ?) upper control arms went away again.
My friend from Europe told me, that because Chinese parts were used.
here is the video taken after month of kit was installed.

I had the same issue with a set of "Made in China" control arms off ebay. They looked icentical to the OEM parts, but they did not last. Nowhere on any of the packaging did they say "Made in China". Lesson learned....
