Default Converting to HID ( A6 Q 1999 )

Hey there,

been looking at the HID conversion kits on ebay for a while. I know Jeffla here and a few others have similar kits installed.

What exactly is involved in the procedure, and do these 75$ kits include really all you need? WHat is the bulb type? Do you only have Xenon Lows or do they come with the high beams as well??

THANKS!!!!

Guillaume

if i could recommend something, the 75$ kits on ebay are crap. ive had 2 a coupleyearsago inprevious carsand the balasts went bad on one and the bulbs went bad on another.. mine were suppose to be 4300k and they were two different colors. DONT get the ones on ebay for 75. i live in wisconsin and i get mine from a guy in know in madison he imports them from japan, which are the better quality ones.therereally good ones and ive had them from him for two years now and no problems what so ever, all my friends have gotten them from him and had no problems, ive bought many kinds from him and just the best kits, i had one were a balast was bad but it was a lemon, and he traded with me for a new one, no charge or anything. a kit from him is $140 and its totally worth it. and i would recomment 4300K in a 99 a6 projector thats what i had. i own a 99 a6Q and i just put 04 A6 headlights in my 99 cause i wanted bigger projectors with more of a solid flat line, thats what i had and its the best for light and the look of OEM. i tried 6k and they were really dark and looked fake. anyone who does more than 4300K is a fool, sorry to say but if you want HIDS get whats OEM not some stupid color. as for instalation, its a piece of cake. just put the bulbs inand connect the ends together and mount the balast.. and yours are halogen im guessing since you want to get hids. it comes with instructions with the kit on the type for ours. it shoudl be pretty simple mine took 5 minutes to install. but if you want to get them from the guy i know ill give you his info.

i got mine from ebay ( super_digi) , around 80$, i buy 2 sets , i install one kit on car and one on bike, no problems so far. color, 8000, bright white with blue tint in it. install for an a6 is about 45 minutes, with no rush, is an easy mod, search for hid kit conversion on forum, or any audi related website.

www.kusoz.com is his website. his hids are awsome and ive had mine for 2 years and no problems at all.. just remeber for the real OEMlook and best light on the ground and most light go with the 4300k color temp or 5000k.. anything higher is junk and dark on the ground. especially with halogen projectors..
