Crank sensor info??
Hello Audiforums members. I hope to be frequenting this site in the years to come. If all goes well this Sunday, I'm sure I will get to know many of you.
To the question....I am wondering if anyone can post a picture of where exactly the crank sensor is located on a 2001 A6 2.7t? I am going to be driving 3.5 hours across the state this Sunday to look at the car. It has a bad tranny and a bad crank sensor. I purchased a new sensor to bring with in the hopes that, when replaced, the engine will start like the current owner says it will. Ill be buying the car if the engine runs and replacing the tranny. I just can't seem to find a good engine bay shot showing the placement of the sensor. I'd like to go into the situation well informed so as not to waste time.
Thank you in advance for your responses

I'm having trouble locating mine as well, I've been out there for 2 hours crawling under the car, leaning over the fender staring down the back of the engine, then coming back inside to google for more tips. If anyone has specific info concerning the crank sensor on an A6 with a 2.8 engine I would greatly appreciate it.
