Default Disconnecting Odometer, Speedo & Tacho

I wish to disconnect my Odometer, speedo and tacho (temporarily). Does anyone know how this is done? I've done a search on here and on the net but can't find any info. They don't do a Haynes for my car either (in the UK at least).

I have a 2000 2.7t.

search under swpping gauge I saw one in audiworld.
I don't it it was easy. just need to pull the pplastic part on top of the sterring, there is 2 bolts that goes out, and slowly jig the gauge and take connectors off from the side they are not that long. there should be 3 connectors to pull out.

Yes, the instrument cluster can be disconnected/removed, but were you planning on driving it like that ? ( and why ? ).

Certainly not. As far as I'm aware it's not legal to use the car like that anyway. I have some expensive aftermarket guages (for a Dax Rush) which come with various universal connectors (one of which claims to be Audi). I intend to connect them to the Audi first, before installing them in the track car as I want to check they work.

I did a quick search as advised by tahoethp but couldn't find the thread. I'll keep searching....
