Default Door ajar warning

As of late my drivers door ajar warning has been randomly coming on while driving. If I open the door and reclose it a few times the warning goes off. I'm assuming the drivers door sensor is bad. I looked around the door jams but didn't notce an obvious switch. Can someone point me to where it's located so I can replace or atleast temporarily remove it. Thanks in advance.

Its integrated into the handle/latch mechanism. A new one costs around $200. They are a known failure item on the A6. My driver's side switch has never worked but I don't get the Door Ajar warning. Mine has failed in the Door is Closed state. I figured I would replace it once the window clips fail but they haven't failed, yet.

My window clips are gone too, I was gonna replace them soon, $200 is kinda steep though.
