Default Driver memory seat question

Hi. I have a 2009 Audi A6 Quattro which is equipped with driver side memory seat. I was under the impression that there were two memory seat settings that could be saved- one for each key. I followed the instructions, and saved the two settings. Yet the seat only reverts to setting one. My wife's setting (2) does not seem to work. When she opens the car door (after the setting was left on key 1- she is key 2). The seat doesn't move. She has to readjust manually. When I open the car door after she has used the car, the seat automatcally readjusts to my setting. Am I doing something wrong, or is it possible that my wife's key is defective.

Thanks.

I am jealous about your new audi purchase. Congratulations!

But to be frank with you, most of us here have either C5s or earlier C6s. That means that we are not that familiar with the new car stuff.

With that said, I say go through the instruction one more time to see if it works.

Sorry couldn't be of much help.

I just got a 2010 A6 last week and have set my seat but haven't set my wife's yet. I'll try it tonight. You did have memory on in the MMI right?

As HXgaser said, you'll have to go one more time through the instructions.
Adjust seat, adjust both outside mirrors, press "Memory" bar and hold, and at the same time press the particular memory button (1, or 2, or 3, or 4).
Maybe you missed one step somewhere, or didn't hold the nr. 2 button at the time?

(By the way, older models have four memory settings available. Two extra infrared keys can be ordered from the dealer, and can be programmed to the 3 and 4 buttons. Do 2009 models come with two memory settings only?)

After you go through the settings for the wife's key you have to actually use the key in the ignition to finailze the process. If she is using the advanced key instead it will not finalize the settings.

My 2000 2.7t has three settings. The instructions are in the operator's manual. They didn't seem to hard, but I do not have it with me.
