Default Economical OBD Reader that will reset errors

I have a 2000 A6 Avant. Was wondering what a good OBD reader would be that will allow reset of error codes as well. Thanks

There's also VCDS by Ross Tech but it's a little more expensive than the above Xtool scanner. I can certainly say without the Ross Tech software I would not be able to effectively work on VAG stuff - I'd just be throwing parts at the cars and wasting time.

This is cheap as heck ($12), works with an app on your phone, and actually works very well. And yes, it will reset a check engine light.

There's quite a few other similar options as well.... most just about $10 more.

If its not the Ross-Tech or Snap-On, Or Another High End, Tt won't pickup the Audi specific codes..... just the federal generic ones.....

I actually have this same one and it's good to keep on me while traveling in case something pops up and I need to see what the generic code is, but I wouldn't rely on it for proper diagnosis because the detail isn't that great, as Tek said. I've often used it on friend's cars to steer them in the right direction for repairs. For 10 dollars, it's alright for basic stuff.
