Engine/Transmission Mount Question

RE: Engine/Transmission Mount Question
Are you talking about the snub mount? If so, do a search on it here or at www.audiworld.com. Typically, it's pretty hard to do - requires removing the bumper. Some people claim to have done it without removing the bumper, but those people were probably graced with VERY small and flexible hands.
Are you doing this to improve drivetrain slop? If so, there's another alternative... The part is more expensive (the snub mount part is only $50), but the install is MUCH easier. The product is the AWE drive train stabilizer. Now on sale at www.awe-tuning.com (normally 349, now 259). Worth checking out.

RE: Engine/Transmission Mount Question
If you're getting a serious thump, it may be more than the usual "drive train slop" (what the DTS and the aftermarket snub mounts are designed to address). As such, you should have it diagnosed by a knowledgable Audi technician. If it's a more involved problem, have then put in a good aftermarket snub mount while they're doing their work (doing this would take care of the normal drive train slop while also fixing your problem). If it's not a problem and is considered normal slop, the DTS or snub mount are the usual upgrades to improve this (people usually go with one or the other).
Good luck.
Good luck.
