What engine do you have? The only coils you have to worry about are on the 3.0L engine.

I have 2002 A6 3.0 avk I also sent info, dont know weather you got it or not on several A4 1.8t 97-2001 for sale in Rhode Island and Mass.

I notice that on mine, when I have the climite control on, and turn the car off, it shuts down and makes a long ummmmmmmmm noise.
but if I have the Climate control off it dosen't do that
