Evolution MS cold air intake?
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on the Evolution MotorSports cold air intake for the 2.7T? or, are there any other intakes that are better?

I personally think cold air intakes really do not work. I believe they suffer from "heatsoak" because the filter element is exposed in the engine compartment. I personally would stick with the factory airbox and put in a K&N or equal air filter or AWE Tuning has an S-Flo intake that fits in the existing airbox. My personal opinion!

Exactly what Joeski said. It works when you are moving, but if you stop, or let the car sit, it looses performance.
The AWE S-Flow works great, and so does a ITG panel filter. I would stay away from K&N, as the oil is not MAF friendly.

I agree....Way too much heat in the engine bay. The intake is actually very well designed. The inlet pipe to the front could be bigger and you could probably morph something in there. Also, I have been told that the cone filter inside the square airbox works well. I have been wrned to to oil the filter though. Also, how does your MAF deal with the increased flow and will it trigger CEL's. I had a K&N filter (drop in) and it was nothing but problems (on my A4 2.8)...ANybody have the cone filter setup that could lens some advice?
