Extreme Boost Problem

Extreme Boost Problem
I've had my 2.7T for about 3 months. i had the REVO software installed which is supposed to give me about 318hp. Well today i got a boost gauge installed (why arent they factory fitted?) and found i'm running at 25lbs boost at full throttle. Isn't that dangerously high? what could be wrong? And yes, it's rediculously fast, the tyres almost light up when the charge kicks in.
I've installed decent Diverter valves about 2 weeks ago.

RE: Extreme Boost Problem
it's only dangerously high if the compression is super high. or if you keep it across the powerband, which i think is pretty much impossible with the stock turbos. i'm not sure what the compression is though...i thought i read somewhere that it was like 11:1 or something...which is high.

RE: Extreme Boost Problem
I'd call Revo. I was thinking about getting that chip into mine and then i went with APR because of how smooth it is. I didnt want a super agressive chip. That much boost seems a tad high. Maybe you need to get a boost controller and keep it lowered.

I can tell you that I have the GIAC chip in my car. My turbos are boosting around 21lbs.

I would LOVE to see some Vag-Com logs of block 115.
Back to the REVO, YES, it's SUPER bad for the turbo's, you are over spooling them, anything over 20psi is in very dangerous over spooling. Since it's Revo, you might just want to turn the boost down with Revo's Lemi tweaks. Again, you should log block 115 with vag-com & make sure the car is requesting that much boost.
If it's not, you may have a bad N75, sticky wastegate, or a boost leak some where.
My car with the latest GIAC code, spikes around 17psi, & tapers around 15ish PSI.
