Flashing "in Dash" brake light...HELP!
I recently purchased a 1999 Audi A6 Quattro w/ @ 140,000 miles. Very nice car except the "BRAKE" light ONLY on the instrument panel flashes continuosly and beeps (3) times every time I turn on the ignition. There is NO ABS light. Can someone fill me in on what the problem may be? Is it something a do-it-yourselfer such as myself can handle? Or is is something a TECH has to handle? Thank you!
rear brakes don't have sensors... check your break fluid... mine was low and mine did the same thing. except the lower my fluid got the more the dam thing beeped. its annoying as h3ll. check you manual it tells you in there too!
Thats also the reason why you shouldnt top off the brake fluid. Its a good indicator of the wear on the brake pads. Besides when you push the pistons back in when doing breaks it will leak out if its been topped off.
