Front license plate - help

Actually it does. Not with the being able to get your speed or not, but how fast the Radar locks to your speed, basically anything reflective will make radar guns lock in faster. And there is actually "sprays" or "Gel coats" that you can apply to make your car eat some of the radar's signal thus increasing the amount of TIME it will take to get your speed

Now perhaps the time delay exists, but it is just too insignificant to matter. If you are talking fractions of a second delay it won't matter to the officer writing you the ticket. So for you out there that think some special license plate cover is going to prevent you from getting a ticket or that it won't show up on a photo-enforced red light camera.....you are fooling yourself. Those things are pure snake-oil.

And what praytell do you think they used before radar? Originally they clocked cars via stopwatch and/or speedometer of the police car....neither of which cared what shape the car was.
Just so you know.....Mythbusters busted that one. It really doesn't matter what shape the car is nor does it matter that license plates are reflective. It is a myth.
If you haven't had any problems then I wouldn't change it, but for those thinking about it there is always the chance they will catch some heat for it. Just be warned and keep your "real" plate handy just in case.

Unkle told me the only reason cops hassle you about it is because back in the day car's were flat and box-ie.
No problem for radar and lasers.

Basicly cops need something flat to shoot the radar/laser @. Hence the push for front licences plates.

Actually I can vouch for the plate that hides your numbers and/or distorts them at a certain angle, so when the picture is taken they cannot read your plate. And ACTIVE laser jammers DO work. Research Blinder, Lidatek.

I have to agree with Costner, I saw that Mythbuster, they wrap the car in foil and everything, it didnt matter. They still clocked the speed with no problem.

Don't you think if it was true that every state would require front plates?
Also, a basic knowledge of how radar works is enough to explain that it doesn't need something "flat" to shoot off of. Have you ever seen a jet with a flat 12" square mountedon the front? Yet they are quite easily picked up by radar, unless it is a stealth aircraft which relies on having minimal curves along with radar abosorbing materials and some other technologies we aren't privy to.
It isn't anything personal, but I sincerely doubt simply because he was on the highway patrol that your uncle has a clue what makes radar function. He may have been an excellent HP officer, but that doesn't mean he is going to understand how his equipment really functions.

Your best bet against radars are ACTIVE radar blockers. Passives is like being 1 too many steps behind the cop. But for now lets stay on topic with the license place...
