Got a code - Low fuel rail pressure

Thought i would start with the easy stuff like a filter.

Are there special tools to remove the fuel lines from the filter, there appears to be three lines

where would I find the filter, assume it is beneath the car?

Perhaps information on the year and engine would help people answer your question.

 

The car is a 2007 A6
4.2 L V8

I've heard that the pressure sensor has been problematic and the regulator could be to blame as well.

Is there a way to diagnose without just replacing parts?
