I was in search of my fuel filter and i was following a DIY post found on a forum and this is what I found, i didnt have much time to mess with it today, so i seen it, and just put the cover back over. But was wondering if the black box is a housing for the filter or is that not it, cause there are only 3 lines coming out the black box....

 

It doesn't look like you took off the right cover. The filter is on the passenger side of the car, not in the middle.

 

yea its right infront of the passenger tire. u can actually see some of the filter if u loook in the right spot.

 

That isn't the right cover. Like Myst420 and Pa4ul said, the filter is not in the middle. It is on the passenger side, right before the tire. You should be able to see the actual filter even without removing the cover. Mine is '04 3.0 so there are 2 lines coming in and 2 lines coming out.
