Angry Gas cap very hard to remove on 2010 A6

Car is only 4 weeks old. My wife finds it impossible to remove the gas cap to add gasoline. The Audi dealer was useless - arrogant and useless. The sales manager finally suggested: "you might want to try spraying some WD40 on it" . The mechanic said there was nothing he could do.
Any suggestions, please.

(Wife is so mad she is talking of returning the car.)

Interesting issue--

This sound like something the dealer could have taken care of if he had used his brain instead of his mouth..

Sometimes gas caps can be a bit hard to remove but there is no reason to be arrogant..

Look in your owners manual for the number to call Audi. Be calm, tell them about the problem, that the dealer was arrogant and he did nothing to help you figure out a solution to the problem.

Threatening to return the car does nothing to help fix the problem. It only pisses people off. Remember -you get more help by being kind than yelling at someone or threatening them. You need to get Audi on your side.

I'm impressed she can go 4 weeks on a tank of gas. I have to fill mine at least once a week. The newer A6s must get much better gas mileage.

Could you be more specific about the "impossible" to remove? Does it appear that the cap fits too tight? I'm wondering there is not enough "give" in the gasket due to being new and all.

If it gets too annoying I'm willing to offer you a straight up trade on my '02 A6. Just had the timing belt done last week

No NO I talked to him first -- He's going to get my 97 Avant with an easy open gas cap ---- I'll even throw in the high performance roller skate if his wife smiles at me..
