headlight question
look i understand you like silverstars, but the fact of the matter is they do not have as much light output as HID kits or OEM HID fitted housings... my cars ALWAYS looked good in the line up but thanks for the attempt at a low blow cheapshot comment... i was only referring to the light comparison... a lancer evolution which was daily driven putting down 403 horses to the floor on pump gas cant possibly look bad

It happens I have them in two cars and have enough output for anyone to see perfectly the road ahead (unless the driver has myopia - in which case the lights make no difference as s/he needs rather an ophtalmalogist), and just enough brightness to not affect the oncoming traffic.
If you have/had them and you say they offer poor visibility, then is just a matter of "preference" or what "looks good" on a 403 Hp car, as you say.
You brought yourself about the car lineup and wanting your car to look as good as your "buddy's", that's why I highlighted it and commented about it. It wasn't a "low blow cheapshot attempt". As a matter of fact, look at your last sentence in your last post. It is again the same pattern about wanting the car to "look good".
Nevertheless, as yourself, I was refering as well at the brightness comparison between Silverstars and HID.
I apologize for even suggesting the Silverstars....my god....
Silverstars do offer better viability but DO NOT COMPARE TO HID'S. I owned silverstars in my 9000k, 850 and A6. I upgraded to 35w hids in the A6 and there is no comparison with the silverstars, the difference really is night and day.
That and I wasted so much money on silverstars, my 9000k, 850 had DRLs and the silverstars burned out about every 6 months. I have read that they have extended the life of the silverstars but I have no need for them anymore.

Jeff,
I respect your opinions guys, but let's remember that I was talking about "sweeping angle" and brightness - the ability to make the road ahead visible, and I wasn't comparing the numbers -the Output, lumens, or kelvin, stating they're the same... I DIDN"T SAY ANYWHERE THAT THEY ARE THE SAME as the HIDs.
In my opinion, the Silverstars are very good visibility bulbs, at the threshold of eye tolerance - FROM A DRIVING PERSPECTIVE.
However, I cannot dismiss your opinions about HIDs. You think they're better. They may be, but remember all the voices complaining about eye sensitivity. Oh well, soon enough everyone on the road will have powerful HIDs, blinding each other like crazy.
Who am I to dispute what's better or looks better?
As far as longevity, I have them in the Hyundai and had them in the Nissan for two years and a half, without replacing any single one of them...true statement. Meantime, Sylvania came out with Xtravision and Ultras. Don't know if they last any longer or not, but the Silverstars served me well.
Again, I apologize I even brought about this type of bulbs that create such a rigmarole.
