Default headlights

I have a 99 A6, how do I tell what kind of headlights I have Xenons or halogen. Also the manual adjuster is broke does this mean I have to new assembly.

Thanks

If you have xenons there will be a little silver box with a "Danger High Voltage" sticker on it, attached to back of the headlight cover (this is the ballast BTW). As for the adjuster, you probably will have to get a new assembly...if yours are yellow and hazy that might not be too bad.

Yeah and if you buy a new assembly you won't be able to adjust them without a scanner because the headlights have to learn the position, even if you adjust them the vertical headlamp adjustment module will re-set after you cycle the key.
