Hey! I'm fairly new to Audis, but have always liked them. I'm thinking about buying a 99 A6 Quattro....with 140k miles on it. I have heard Audi's have common electrical problems, and there are also things that generally need replaced once you hit a certain mileage. The car was owned by an older guy who has all the maintenance records for it.

I guess my main question is should I not even think about getting an Audi with this many miles? Are there any common problems that I should know about, or anything specific I should ask the guy regarding maintenence?

140K is a young one.

The major question would be -When was the timing belt, water pump done?

I'm sure others have a long list of look ats.

If you search this forum you'll find an extensive list that was done just a few weeks ago.

I'm not a good person to ask aboutmiles on a n AUDIcause my 88 90Q had 210K when we sold it, my 89 200QT has 350K, my 86 A6 FWD has 170K and my 97 A6 Avant Q has 180K. but who's counting miles?
