Default Help. 2005 MMI system dead in my car?

The MMI in my A6 has gone dead, for some reason. Nothing works, stereo, bluetooth, controls, nothing - it's all dark and dead. My warranty JUST expired on April 30th, and I pray to God my dealership will give me some sort of grace here considering this. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am the original owner of an 05 4.2. I had the same problem about two years ago. It required the replacement of the MMI module. While it was covered by the OEM warranty, the dealer told me that it was a $2,000 repair.

Since I was not the one driving the car at the time this happened (my dad was), I really, really, reeeallly hope my dad accidentally turned the MMI off. Either that, or I pray the MMI reset works.

The MMI unit would be the most likely cause however, the MMI system is a fiber optic data loop. In other words if one thing goes out they all turn off. So it can be anything in that loop. From the radio to the MMI unit itself. Hopefully its just an electrical gremlin thats an easy fix. The fault codes will tell all at the dealer.

I tried the reset and the on/off button...and it is indeed something wrong with the electrical somewhere. I can't believe this happened just a few days after the warranty expired.

Well, thank God I have an extended warranty. They covered it, much to my absolute shock (because they don't cover Navigation, and the MMI system is obviously a larger unit to cover than Navi). It was covered under the electrical coverage in my contract.

No clue. I'm going to assume something to do with water...New York City hasn't seen the sun in about 5 days now. It's been miserable here.
