help with Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) Open or Short to Plus
strange... i used the right tools for the job.. cambar 3391 and T.D.C bolt 3242.
can it be the chain in the back of the top?
if i took out the bolt that's holding the cam weel, how do i get the cam back in place?need tools to set it right?
the car is not stable in idle either...

You can't really check the tensioner with the vag com. You can check the timing of the tensioners if you want to, but it can't move un-less you took it out. On the other hand if its bad it can cause this problem, but the engine will usually sound like a diesel if it is.
Here is a diagram of how the tensioners are timed.

well.. the code is gone now.. the timeing was of.. to bad,though.. the bolt that hold the cam weel has been tighten to hard by a son of a (#(/#(!")#`!)"#`#!(`¤(`"``???=&%=)/(/("//!!!!!!!) the last time..!!!!
Thanks to that i have to by a new camshaft!

I'm actually thinking mine might be the tensioner as well... really need to get it looked at (i haven't thrown any cel's but i definitely got the diesel chatter going on, and for a good year at least)
do you have the same code on your car?
