Hey JayMac

You canopen your brake fluid reservoir cap, and keep an eye on the level as you are compressing the piston. I would suggest bleeding a little fluid out so the old fluid sitting by the caliper is replaced with some fresher stuff. It is recommended to flush the system ever 2 years I think. Just an FYI...

If memory serves I think the carrier bolts are 17mm. But check the doc to make sure.
