Yeah, I remember someone saying that 2-3k comment, so now I'm saving money as much as I can to keep my baby road ready.

It's so nice to have a womanjoin the forum. There's been way toomany testosterone fueled arguments. But we are passionate about our Audis, too.

Make sure you use a good synthetic oil, like Mobil1 5W-30, and change it every 6-8k. Your manual will tell you the preventive maintenance that is needed at 10k intervals. Start thinking about replacing the timing belt, water pump, pulleys at around 75-80k. Read through this forum about other members' problems so you know what to look for and what to avoid.

Good luck and enjoy your new wheels.
LOL What do you mean by "testosterone fueled arguments"? [:@]Don't you mean lively opinionated discussions?[:-]

Good sugestions regular oil changes and timing belt etc. I also like the other comments - like keep 2-3 K around, and find a good mechanic. I'd guess that a good mechanic (not alwaysan Audidealer) is IMPERATIVE.

This thread is hilarious. Subtract the name Mindy and add Michael. There would be one response either saying"do a search, newb" or possibly providing a handy link to the search feature. It is funny when the poster's name is Mindy people trip over each other to lend their expertise. LOL! Anyway, welcome Mindy. You already did a good thing getting the six speed. Now check this link out: https://www.audiforums.com/search.asp

HI, congrats on the purchase, great choice! and welcome to the forum.
Here's a great link every A6 owner should have
http://sonolithics.com/files/a6_links.html

The A6 2.7T is a great car but needs TLC. As someone said above, don't follow the book's instructions. Change your oil every 5k, use a good oil like the mobil one or EURO made Castrol syntec... Get an upgraded TBB (ie: SAMCO or the APR Bipipe) and N710 DV's.
I would suggest you go to your local dealer and have them pull the maintenance/repair history done on the car. They'll be bale to pull (Free) a report of all work done at AUDI dealers. See what was done or not done...
If your car is modded, I would do the timing belt and water pump 75k service early, maybe 60-65k miles to be on the safe side. Control arms, CV boots are know for premature failure/problems. You'll probably get cel and need to replace coil pack, no biggy.
Also stick to the warm up and cool down mentioned above to avoid premature turbo failure. Religious maintenance by an Audi pro is key! Find a good indy shop.
Good luck and post pics.
