Default HID headlights conversions

have a question regarding aftermarket HID kits have been looking at a couple of different brands and the sales person is also trying to sell me a voltage stabilisr kit as wellstating that all Audi conversion kits need this to stop low voltage light coming up on dash is this a problem i need to be aware of or are the just looking to get some more dough out of me? the kit is for a 1998 A6 C5 iread on another post that some other people have brought A/M kits and they have not mentioned anything about check light problems

I have an aftermarket hid kit and I do not have a voltage stabilizer, and I also do not have any warning lights. Maybe 98's are different from 00's but I doubt it. Just go on ebay and get the cheapest 4300k kit you can buy, thats what I did.

thanks for the advice Jeff , i have just been offered a couple of a/m ballasts and wiring kit for nothing so i might see if i can get a couple of bulbs and holders and make up a kit, if not i will buy something of ebay
