HID Light Bulb Question

HID Light Bulb Question
Hey guys!
I noticed my low beam HIDs are not as bright as the ones on the new cars. I have an 04 A6 2.7T and I was thinking to get some new bulbs. I was driving by a Cayenne last night and his headlights looked way brighter. Made my car look like I don't even have some. Sam thing with the new A6.
I did some searching and a lot of people go with DDM tuning. Link here http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=264&parent=94
Only $15 for a pair. Sounds to good to be true. What do you guys think about it? Anyone bought bulbs from them and had them for more than one year on their car? What about some Philips bulbs? ( aprox 60-70).
Anyways, the next question would be how hard is it to replace them and what do I have to do?
Thanks for all your help.

We have 2 sets of DDM tuning kits, there just fine. Your headlights will never be a bright as a newer car. The newer cars have newer technology and better optics in their housings. But a 55w kit does go a long way towards catching up to some of the newer high end cars.
FWIW, our factory HID system in our 3 series looks like a candle compared to new 3 series systems. My A6 with DDM 55w 5k kit looks about 80% brightness of new A6 hids.

Let me know how your $15 bulbs work out after 6 months. Considering it's an $800 option new and kits go for $300-400, I cannot believe you'll get quality from a cheap bulb. But I'm prepared to be surprised, especially since my low beams have lost a lot of brightness over the last 5 years. I'll look forward to an update.

A '00 C5 A6 with factory halogens use an H1 low beam, but I think they changed bulbs with the facelift cars. Check here: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/ FWIW, don't buy the Raptor brand off their website for 29.99. DDM will tell you their DDM-Tuning brand for 49.99 is a higher quality kit. I agree, again FWIW.

55W or 35W
And how hard is it to replace the whole kit on my Audi? I put a remote start on a Subaru a couple weeks ago so I suppose replacing a headlight bulb and ballast would be that tough. I still need to know where do I start?
Thanks Jeffa.
