how many hours to replace clutch.

Default how many hours to replace clutch.

a shop told me it would take 17 hours to replace the clutch on a 03 a62.7t. Is this bullshit or true? for me this sounds way to long to replace a clutch...

Thats what the haynes book says it is for labor, and thats what you will pay the shop, the mechanic can probably do it in 9-10 hours.

Clutch, flywheel, and pilot bearing replaced at 89k miles. Labor was 9 hours. Also had the auxiliary water pump replaced at the same time - 3 hours. And the transmission, rear diff, and transfer case fluids all changed - 1.5 hours. Plus parts, of course. I pulled these numbers right off the invoice.
