How much $ for brake pads replacement?
1999 A6, the brake pads wear indicator is on. How much for the pads, front, rear, and how much time to do it?? Also is it very expensive to get the brake fluid changed?
Thank you!
Thank you!
just replaced my pads on my 99 a6, fwd, 2.8 (supercharged). Got it done at midas (Good cust Service)
My pads were squeaking like crazy so i took it to Midas they replaced my front pads. Front pads model #SS7715X and resurfaced Rotors total of 170.23$, however the pads kept on squeaking so i took it back to midas, then they said they re-alined it cause it was leaning against the rotor they also said to give it some time to break in, however after 1000 miles they were still squeaking like crazy, you would think by now i would have to go back to Midas and pay for new pads since it's been over a month, NOPE!, So after i brought it in again, they gave me new pads (im assuming the SS7715X is not compatible with audis, so they put on different pads, MODEL # OP/D555CES and also resurfaced the rotors, (savings of $214.97), since then i have never heard a squeak and the pads are great, and the rotors are very clean. So if your going to change them at midas tell them you would like the OP/D555CES.(their friendly people so if something isn't right then just bring it back, they won't charge you for their mistake)
There was this one time when i was going about 115-130mph and had to hit the break allot because i was racing and i had to keep slowing down to let this bitch assBMW catch up to me, and the pads squeaked all the way home whenever i hit the break, i thought it was serious but the next morning when i woke up they sweak was all gone, i'm guessing it was because of the high speeds and the rotors were mad hott i almost lost my index finger when i touched the rotors.
Good Luck, GKB

I have a 2000 2.7. I had to change front and rear pads and rotors. I got $985 quote from the dealer, so I decided to do it myself. I got ceramic pads and cross drilled rotors for about $475, plus I had to buy a tool that compresses and turns the back calipers to change those pads. I saved $500 and got better than OEM quality parts and it took a couple hours to do it myself for the first time. I could do it in half that time now that I know what I doing. It's easy. I had the dealership flush out my brake fluid. They charged about $100. Good Luck.
