Default I pod mounting, where is yours?

Hi guys, I am thinking of adding an IPod to my stock symphony 2Bose sounds system. I have see the DIY on audidiy.com and have priced up the dice kits (as dension don’t import into the US any more). However the Diy shows the installation with the iPod cradle mounted to the right of the head unit in full view of anyone who wanted to steel it. Security concerns lead me to consider other places, namely:

The coin draw next to the hazard flashers switch. (I tried this one the I pods are too large to fit here)

Inside the glove box (this is the easiest option but the least flashy and not the best placing)

Inside the armrest between the two front seats (this one would be the most complex but would make for the best place)

I was wondering where other people had mounted theirs? and how difficult you had found the install. The place i would like to mount it would be in the arm rest but thatI think may be beyond me technically, I noticed there isa phone type jack in the arm rest for the factory phone I therefore assume that there must be weirs going down the arm rest to some place I am thinking I could use thisroot and back to the head unit.

Thoughts, suggestions and comments please!!!

Thanks
James

I never really liked the dock type I pod units, the dealer installed ones are the best which just has a 3 ft cord that comes out of the glove box thats wired directly to the back of the radio (expensive way to go)
However if you wanted to use a dock style, putting into the center console would be the best place for it.
