Default i'm new, and i'm havin big time troubles! HELP!

ok, start by saying i have a beautiful 2003 A6 with the 4.2L V8... with 147K spins on it.

it's a great car and i love it...

however...

it's having some issues. first being the headlights. the auto levelers don't work anymore, so i get flashed by EVERYBODY at night, even tho my brights aren't on. dealership said about 200 bucks for a sensor.

next issue: catalytic converters. they rattle and the dealership said they are pretty much junk and they need to be replaced at a GRAND each...and there is TWO. thanks audi.

issue 3: a minor one, just a bit annoying: when i back up, the passenger side mirror tilts down but wont go back up unless i do it manually.

now my questions are is there a generic cat that is cheaper? and will that affect the way the motor performs?

about the headlights, there are really cool after market headlights with the LED strip for around 350. how hard are they to install, and do they auto level themselves like the stock ones?

any help would be appreciated.

I would price used cats and other parts from the usual suppliers mentioned here, they will much less and they will be fine for a car with high mileage. Take them to an independent and pay the labor to change them out..... they won't warranty the work but it is simple stuff anyway.
