Default Info on gutting cats vs. Piggies?

The APR dealer who will be chipping my car next week said that he's gutted the cats on customers' cars before, and to the best of his knowledge, no customers have had CEL's show up as a result.
He say's the reason is that APR has a test-pipe file that eliminates CELS from the gutted cats without having to relocate the O2's.
Does anyone have any more knowledge about this?
If the O2's aren't relocated, as in the piggie pipes, does anyone know about the ramifications of simply gutting the pre-cats; ie, failing emissions tests, poor mileage, ruining O2's, etc.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Jeremy

This is just a dealership flash aswell. It tells your car to ignore the fact that it is throwing the code. You should get it done right and your o2 sensors put in the right spot. Having something being wrong and having to ignore it isn't right

Bu is it throwing the code because something is actually wrong or because it's changed?
In other words, are the Piggie pipes protecting me from some harm by physically moving the 02's or just preventing the code from being thrown by physically moving the o2's vs. re-programming the computer.
Am I making sense?

It is obvious that it is because of the mod and sadly how shitty the o2 sensors r on the cars. I am not sure what miss placing the o2 sensors would really do other than prob read ur current air flow a little in acc. I would just look into the long term problems of the o2 sensors being misplaced or even look up the proper location for the o2 sensors where they sit. I might be able to talk to prince who helped talk my audi tech through placing the o2 sensors in. If no real problems from the o2's being misplaced id just go with the reflash and permently tell your car to ignore the code. You can also buy something from vastperformance that would be cheaper that you put in your cats to protect from this code.

What did you get from prince, it might depend on that and what time of day are you getting your car worked on?

I started with the DV's and Samco TBB. I'll be ordering my TCU flash from them, too.
