Installing AMI on 2006 A6 - Can it be done?
Ok so i finally got the removal tools into the slots, I had to use a lot of force to get them in. How do I take the changer out now? I tried pulling back on the removal tools to see if they were "locked in" and would remove the changer, but the tools just pull out of the slots. I dont see any other place to get a grip to get the changer out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

eazy, thank you for the video, it helped and I was able to install the AMI. It is great, finally I can play my songs from my iphone as opposed to burning a CD. Way easier and more convenient - I definately recommend doing it if you are on the fence about it. My total cost was around $400 for everything (including the OEM MMI update discs). The only negative is the cable that goes from the AMI to my iphone is so short that the iphone has to stay in the glovebox. It works OK if you are playing music from your itunes library, however if you want to play anything from Pandora or youtube (music), you have to do that from the phone and it is akward since it is so far away from you. I plan on buying the bluetooth adapter to take care of this problem however (see my comments below about that).
A note to anyone trying this, I kept working at it and finally I was able to nudge the changer a bit loose. The trick was definitely bending the removal tools up a bit, and despite the instructions that came with the tools you dont have to insert them all the way. Just until you hear the click. I could not however pull the unit out with the tools, I had to use some molding removal tools to grab onto the changer and then slowly pull it out. The area where the CD changer is in is very tight for some reason.
I couldn't fit the cd changer next to the AMI, not without cutting the back of the glove box. I will probably save that project for a later date. Is there any way to put the cd changer in the trunk? I see a slot area right under where the navigation disc is in the trunk area.
Also has anyone found a good deal on the bluetooth music adapter (part 4F0051510J ) Lowest I am finding it for new is $179 (with s/h) at genuineaudiparts.

I have run into another problem in that now when I press the TEL button it says telephone not installed and I cannot pair my phone to the Bluetooth system. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I recall something being posted about a Bluetooth issue when updating the MMI. Phone was working before the MMI update perfectly

I did that when I did the MMI Update. I first updated HANDYVORB2 using Disc one, then after that was done I did the updates from Disc 2. Should I try going back and putting Disc 1 in again?
Yes, run it agan. That's the bluetooth disc.
