Default Installing new head gaskets A6 3.0L

Can anyone tell me if they used Indian Head gasket compound on the new head gaskets?? Any issues when applied?

Do I apply the compound on ALL surfaces - block, gasket, and heads??

Don't use ANYTHING on a head gasket. It comes with everything it needs. Make sure both surfaces are CLEAN. I scrape them, run a file over them, wash them with alcohol then spray them with brake cleaner. Make SURE to clean out the bolt holes by running an old head bolt coated with light oil all the way down in them. Make sure to run your head bolts down to spec in the sequence specified (center bolts first then work your way outwards) and in two steps.
