Default intermitant code issue

Ok, here it is, I purchased a 2004 A6 3.0 with 200,000 miles on it. It has gone thru 4 waterpumps in the last 100,000 miles. The last time it failed his wife said "get rid of it." I bought a Blauparts cam belt kit, with waterpump and I bought the cam tool. Replaced all parts, car fired up and runs well. Now the problem. Check engine light comes on, the codes are late cam timing and cam sensor problem. Shut the car off and restart, no "check engine" light. Drive it and the light may come back on. Always the same two codes. Shut the car off restart, no codes. I am at a loss as to why the code light is intermitant. The car runs well, fuel milage is as good as it ever was. I purchased the car to repair and resell, but I will not sell it until I get this issue resolved. Any thoughts? P.s. My regular ride is an A8 and as I don't need two Audi's the A6 will be for sale Jetsam
