I don't see any reason in changing the fan. A year or so ago we changed the one in our bmw because it was always on. The new fan is a cheap aftermarket one and it does engage more often than the old one did years ago when it was working properly. All in all, I would just get used to the sound. I personally think it is obnoxious, but my partner thinks the electric fans on our volvo was obnoxious.
