I have a 2002 A6 with the xenon self leveling headlights. Is there a model of LED projector headlights that I can replace them with? I don't think it really matters if I lose the self leveling function, and I don't really care if I lose that function.

 

You mean one that mimics the late-model cars with LEDs for running lights, or one that uses LEDs for the main beam? For the first, they're probably out there (like they are for the A4) and they're probably crap (like they are for the A4). For the latter, no. LED headlights are on the V10 R8 standard, and as a $5000 option on the V8 model. No LED headlights are available for the A6.

 

I was looking at the ones that mimic the late model units. Spyder makes a unit as does a few other companies.

I'd stay away from those - I know a few people who've bought those for the A4 and they turned out to be garbage. Poor construction, prone to fogging up due to lack of water-sealing on the housings, and honestly, having seen them in person, the LED portion looks kinda cheesy - nothing near the style that Audi puts out on the newer OEM lamps.

 

There was a guy on here a while ago that was making them out of oem lights

I don't know if he's still into it but do a search, he told me how to do it.
