Let's hear about it! How many miles on your A6?
my 2000 A6 2.7t MT6 has 148k on it, i just picked it up a few weeks ago. timing belt, water pump and a whole slew of maintenance was completed at 125k by the previous owner, who babied it. so far i'm very happy with this car!
2005 A6 3.2 144,000 miles and runs great BUT will need the intake manifold cleaned soon. I am experiencing rough starts. When it is running and idling smooth as a baby's but, but takes awhile to catch when starting. Also needs shocks, brakes, control arms. I guess with 144k this is to be expected, although my 1997 Maxima has 205k miles and never replaced shocks, tranny fluid, alternator. Did replace starter three times though. Seems Audi's need suspension more often than most other brands
My 1999 A6 Quattro 2.8 just turned over 290K on the original engine and transmission. I actually thought I finally killed it last week because I accidentally reversed the cables while jump starting it and it would barely run (wouldn't idle, didn't shift right, no power brakes, wouldn't go over 45 mph). It turns out that I fried the computer, so while I was waiting for the new one to arrive, I cleaned out the plugged up vacuum system, and now it runs better than ever!
2001 A6 Quattro 2.8. I just bought my car in december and it had 55,200 miles. It now has 58,254 miles. The car has never had any major repairs and will not need any in the near future. Not too bad for $6k
2002 A6 4.2 133,000
Timing belt, (2)
Timing chain tensioners (Ouch $600.00 each) if they make noise at start, get them done.
Cv boots, 1 wheel bearing cats around 130,000 (used ones from Rock Auto, Eastern brand)
Expensive mainten. wise, but nice Now, need to drive and make the repairs pay

My 2003 A6 has 195,000 miles and looks and runs great. Bought it new, commute 2,000 miles/ month, 30% of that in downtown San Francisco traffic, and avg 22 mpg. Always been serviced by dealer. Have replaced fuel and water pumps, engine mounts; but biggest item replaced was catalytic converter at 170k mi. Of course I had sporadic check engine lights for this for almost 2 years before I took care of it, so could have been less major. Engine, trans etc great. Still get compliments on great looking car
. I love this car!!
