light weight pulleys
im about to get timing belts replaced from the dealer. they said 2-2.5K for the job. but labor said was only 800ish

so i checked online on ecs, timing belt kit was 240, and then light wieght pulley kit was 150.

does anyone have experience with any of these parts?

2-2.5K Just for the timming belt? hell no! run aways fast ..i just got my timming belt replaced,with the water pump and new pullys,and it costed me 850.00

 

That's rape for that job. And the lightweight pulleys have been shown to do very little for output at all. I'd skip it.

 

from where?
the 2k includes water pump, v belt (labor only) and idler/rollers.

honda does my oil changes and they said 250 labor, i dont know if i can trust honda with an audi. any suggestions?

 

DUDE, why go to a dealer?

My local audi dealer does the whole job for around 1600. OEM parts, and labor.

A european shop should be able to do the job for around 900-1000. depending on the engine you have.
