Lock/unlock beep with remote is too low

Lock/unlock beep with remote is too low
I've a 2001 Audi A6 2.7t. When I lock or unlock the beep sound is too low and I can unlock or lock it when I go close to the car only. Lock/unlock system is not working more than about 15 feet distance. Please help what could be the reason.
