Default Loud Popping Noise and no electrical anything

Well our A6 got flooded on the interior. Still it started and ran. Then it rained every figgin day and got flooded again. Two days no rain so we decided to try to start her up. I was upstairs with the window open, watching. The back seat of the car was out and the door on the passenger side was open. When he turned the key I heard a loud pop. He said he looked back and saw smoke over the battery. Now there is no electrical anything. No headligts. It doesn't do sh*t when you turn the key. ?????????????????????????????

Oops! Better take it to a dealer and trade it in. You probably melted a fusible link.

Good luck,

Bob

I thought a fusible link got fried too.

Trade-in is not an option, the car is a 1997.

After it sat for a few hours, we were looking at it again, trying to figure out what happened. When the accessories went on, I was like, "try the headlights". They went on. So we decided to try to turn it over and it started. Who Hoo. "How do you like my Audi now?"

Of course, we did not try to take it to work this morning. Still a little gun shy.
