Default mixed coolant / overheating?

hi all, has anyone experienced overheating as the result of mixing the g12 coolant with ordinary coolant?
had a the plastic t-rot off and my son just filled it up wtih off the shelf coolant after the quick repair and now the gauge is off the charts. overheating, ruining of the temp sensor, locking of the thermo (closed) possible with this mix????????????
thanks!

Well when you mix other coolants like anifreeze with G-12 it tends to coagulate into a gell. If you got a lot of antifreeze in there it could have blocked or stuck the thermostat closed. Feel the radiator hoses, do any of them feel cold when its overheating, or luke warm? If nothing is being pushed through the radiator the thermostat is blocked/stucked closed.
