the AFC or AHA. i went to sparkplugs.com and that's the question they're asking.

 

What engine do you have? The 2.8l, 2.7, 4.2?

 

98 A6 only had the 2.8.

 

2.8L so is there a difference?

 

ACK - ALG - APR used in the UK basically the same engine the engine code changed with the age and nothing much else, in the USA it was emissions that changed the engine code but still basically the same engine use between 1997 and 2002
