Default Motor by rear of car?

I have a 2005 A6 and sometimes after I turn my car off and get out, I can hear what sounds like a motor running by the rear wheels of the car. Does anybody know what this is? I don't believe the 05's had adjusting suspensions, did they? It only runs for 3 or 4 seconds and then turns off.

Default RE: Motor by rear of car?

The 05s did not have adjusting suspension. I am guessing that you purchased the car usedand that the prior owner ignored the TSB on getting the fuel filter replaced. The elements in original filter were too fine and the filter would make noise as the pressure adjusted for a fewsecondsafter the car was turned off. The noise was described as a popping or a motor type sound. I suggest that you take the car to the dealer and have the fuel filter replaced. If you have less than 50K mile it is free.
