the driver's side low beam headlight keeps burning out and it's getting expensive because i've replaced it about 7 times. i noticed the headlamp socket is melted which may be causing the short. i'm planning to buy the one below but not sure if it will solve the problem. any suggestions?

It might be the driving light socket...

 

My guess is that there is a short somewhere which is blowing your bulb and melting the socket.
