Default Need headlight help!

I was trying to adjust my passenger side headlight. I was turning the adjustment screw when I heard a snap/crack. I did not turn it too tight, but the whole assembly seems to have slipped off and is now loose. The adjuster no longer moves the light. I found the stud/pin on the lower left hand side (looking at the back of the assembly from inside the hood). It appears that the assembly is supposed to fit on this and pivot from this point. I can't get it back on this pin, and my headlight is aimed way too low. I do not have HID's or auto leveling headlights. Any suggestions?

You have to remove the headlight and pop it open. Its the only way you will be able to pop the ball joint back in. This is assuming the ball joint just popped out. I had the same thing happen to me and was very happy to find out it was just that.

You gotta be careful adjusting the headlights. If you are doing major adjusting, you are sometimes better off just loosening the light. Then you can move the whole assembly, rather than max out the adjustments and having pressure on joints.

Thanks for your response. Looks like I'll be removing the headlight this weekend. Looks like some say you can't pull it out without removing the bumber, and some say you can. I'm going to try it without removing the bumber.

I can have them out in 5 minutes. Just have to have the courage to flex that white tab that they sit into on the radiator support. I've done it like 6 times now and it hasn't broken yet.

Well, I was able to do it with only minor difficulties! Kept dropping things, so I had to remove the belly pan. Only took me about 1 hour. These two writeups were a HUGE help!

Good to hear man. Was it just popped out, or was something broken?
