Default need help quick

On my 2000 Audi a6 2.7t I just replaced my instrument cluster everything seems to be working fine, however after diving for some time the oil gauge does not move but if I turn the car off and then tyrn the key in the acc posisiton the oil temp needle goes to the correct place however it slowly drifts back to zero. Could the cluster be bad
(its new) or maybe I did not plug it in correctly. please help

You did not take an actual cluster apart you just plugged new one in? And the oil temp gauge is'nt visible from outside? (I've not taken these apart, does not know how exactly it looks) Try opening cluster itself where you can actually see connections on the back of the oil temp gauge and make sure nothing is loose.

I doubt you can plug it in incorrectly.
