Default Need Radio Help!!!!

I have an '04 A6 2.7T S-Line with the Symphony II with Bose and Satellite (XM). I purchased a used Symph2 to replace it since I was missing pixels in the display. I unplugged my original one, plugged in the other one and entered the safe code to unlock it. It went to the FM Screen but there is no sound, volume **** doesn't work, and none of the buttons function except the tuner ****. I then unplugged that one, and plugged back in my original Symph2 and get the same problem from that one now, except I get radio stations at a fixed volume, none of the buttons work, the steering wheel controls don't work, but the tuner **** works. Could the mere fact that I plugged in a "foreign" headunit be a reason the coding in the car's computer got messed up or something? I did nothing more than unplug and plug in the radios. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I know I entered the code on the new on correctly. But now, I just want my original headunit to work again. I don't know why plugging in the "new" one and entering the code would have messed up the relationship between my car and the original headunit. Unless the car computer is confused??? As I am.

The coding must be wrong. There is a coding table that the dealer has to code it correctly.

Does anyone know the correct coding for my radio? It is a Symphony II with Bose and Satellite out of a '04 A6 S-line. The model or part# for the radio is 4B0 035 195 N. Any help is appreciated.
