Question Need some help on breaks

Hey all -
I am wanting to get some new rotors for my car. Probably just the fronts for now and I'll get rears later. I do not want to fork over 2gs for a big break kit at the moment.
What are some good rotors to go with and what about pads? Ive been told about PowerSlot and a few others but I cannot decide. If you have had some previous experience with any upgraded rotors please let me know. Also, (noobie) are my calipers the 4 or 2 pad system??
I'd appreciate any and all help.
Cheers,

I just changed my pads yesterday. Got em from ECS tuning. There's a lot of stuff to choose from. Search adamrotors on google, pretty awesome stuff for rotors...

The best rotors are the OEM type (the most surface area) unless you drive on the track for race days, then drilled are better for pad surface gas and water release. The best pads are Hawk or EBC Red Stuff street pads. Just my opinion. You will need to look at your calipers to see what pad type they are and you may have to measure the diameter of the rotor, I did. The A6 comes with two rotor diameters, 312mm and 321mm.

I show 3 possible choices for front rotors. 312mm, 320mm and 321x30mm with floating calipers which use 4 pads per caliper. The OEM rotors are 81.25 each plus shipping (for any of the 3 choices). In stock at this time also. Any questions please let us know. I'd need your vin# to see which rotors you would need. Thank you, Jeff.

Question

Thanks for all the answers guys -
Jeff - thank you for yours too. Unfortunately I am looking for aftermarket cross drilled vented disks. So I dont know if you have those too. I can get my vin relatively soon. I dont know if there is another way I can tell to see which ones I have. Perhaps a detail in the years made or a visual up close?

I wish we could help out with the performance parts side of things but we can't. If you give me your vin I will tell you what option number you have so you can ask for the correct size rotors.

We are a dealer and use ETKA parts program to look up parts and decode vin number options. It's best at highlighting something like a door panel that has 20 different part numbers for just the RF door. It would highlight the correct one based on options that the car has, including the color of the panel. On older cars this function isn't supported as effectively, in some cases not at all. It tells us if the car has zenon lights or not so we don't have to ask a customer that may not even know what that is. It tells us engine and tranmission codes that a car should have based on the vin also. It doesn't tell us the engine or trans # that should be in that exact car though, it just tells us the model of engine or trans it should have.
